Scotland football fans can now own a digital piece of Hampden Park pitch

Sportli, in partnership with the Scottish FA, has launched a virtual pitch platform at the national stadium.

This allows fans to own a digital half-square metre of the pitch where legends like Kenny Dalglish, Ally McCoist, and James McFadden have played.

Scottish footballing icons Colin Hendry and Billy Stark were present at the launch.

Hendry said: “Playing at Hampden Park has always been a highlight of my career, and now, thanks to Sportli fans can own a piece.

“I’m thrilled to be part of this launch and can’t wait to see fans claim their own patches of Hampden.

“The best moment for me? Scoring twice against San Marino in my last game for Scotland.

“My only other goal was a header against Malta in a friendly – so those two goals at Hampden capped it off for me.

“I did play in some very good games against some very good sides, but you can’t beat scoring for your country in front of the Tartan Army.”

Stark added: “This is a fabulous idea; it gives fans the chance to showcase their passion for the national team and own a piece of footballing history.”

Each digital patch purchase comes with an immediate e-certificate and a physical framed certificate.

Each certificate has a QR code that allows fans to zoom in on their square of the pitch.

Each digital piece is owned for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Gordon Stevenson, founder of Sportli, said: “Owning a virtual patch of Hampden Park is more than just a novelty — it’s about connecting fans to the heart of Scottish football.

“This platform allows supporters to feel a deeper connection to the pitch where so many unforgettable moments have happened.

“It’s a way for fans to show their passion and be part of the legacy of Hampden Park.

“With Sportli.org, we’re giving fans a unique chance to claim their own piece of football history, bringing them closer to the game they love and helping to support our clubs for future generations.”

Steven Romeo, head of retail at the Scottish FA, said: “This unique platform allows fans to own a digital piece of Hampden Park, offering them a new way to connect with the game and celebrate their passion for Scottish football.”
